Haraz region
The Haraz region offers one of the oldest and finest areas for cultivating Harazi coffee in the mountains and highlands, dating back hundreds of centuries. It is known as the "Queen of Coffee" due to its abundant coffee production. The region relies on the ghayl irrigation system, including the traditional method called "ba'qir," which depends on seasonal rainfall for watering the coffee plants. What distinguishes Harazi coffee is its quality and the rarity of its natural flavors.
Harazi coffee is produced from farms located in Haraz, which is part of the Sana'a Governorate, at an elevation ranging from 1400 to 2400 meters above sea level.
The coffee varieties available in the Haraz region are:
- Al-Adeni.
- Al-Ja'di.
- Al-Dawairi.
